A study on sports injuries by girls¢¥ high school students


Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the kinds of sports injury and their treatment in athletics field. 200 school girls including the athletes and the club members of the physical education were the subjects for this study, and the questionaries filled by the above were carefully surveyed.
The results were as follows:
1. The kinds of sport which cause injury frequently were, Tae Kwan Do, Cycle and track and field.
2. The injuries were due to the lack of skill(17.8%) and practice(14.1%).
3. The injuries were treated at hospitals or clinics(18.0%) and acupuncture(17.0%).
4. During recovery of the injury, 44% of the subjects took rest with regular exercise and 38% of the subjects took rest with irregular exercise.
5. The recovery from the injury without regular exercise took 6 to 10 days (36.4%) and 16 to 20 days (13.0%); whereas, the recovery from the injury with regular exercise took 2 days(38.9%).
